Broken Poem by Holly Jamestone

Broken

Rating: 4.8

Broken man with eyes so vacant
Heart so tarnished, scars so deep
Waning patience, tattered memories
Rancid thoughts too spoiled to keep

Crusty man with wall erected
Hidden from the morning dew
Frown imprinted as a time badge
Black persona, tar-tinged hue

Shattered man with hope expended
Bag of rocks up to his knees
Staring off into the moment
Repelling all from which he flees

Fragile man with path so twisted
Roadblock present, detour strong
Caution light pulsating dimly
Seconds ticking, hours long

Lonely man with life unraveled
Numbing smile he tries to force
Stolen moments, fleeting longing
Heart resigned to stay the course

Broken, fractured, breached, imploded
Branches splintered ‘yond repair
Trunk diseased and leaves forgotten
Seasoned sadness in the air

Broken man with love so hidden
Fear so glaring, hope so dim
Love-starved madness, tragic choices
What will now become of him

Wonderfully written. Packed with great lines. The hopelessness of him seems somewhat unfair to me. Life having to be a race or a contest is sad for those who can't compete for what ever reason. How nice if people could stop hating the unfortunate. But no one likes you when your down... Anyway, excellent poem. take care
