Broke Free Poem by Mark Fahmy

Broke Free

Rating: 3.5

I cherished my own soul one day
Emerged out of the dull surface of clay
I opened my eyes and saw the dawn
Crossed the many limits that were drawn

It was time for me to use a magic wand
So I held confidence in one hand
And unlocked my own special wonderland
In the other one I held pride
Dried all the tears that I cried

I bravely jumped beyond the red lines of the soul
They all laughed and told me that I would fall
But I looked upwards with a smile, ignoring every word they said
For a new world was already waiting for me ahead
A paradise where not a single tear shall be shed

It felt so sweet to break the chains
To soar through the skies like aeroplanes
I was not the person they imagined me to be
I spread my wings and broke free!
