Brief Encounter Poem by Elia Michael

Brief Encounter

We had a brief encounter this morning
My sister and I at Moor Street Station
As we were busy walking and talking
Our cousin was there in the location

Funnily enough I saw this woman
I thought she looked like our cousin Nina
Then I thought, no it’s another person
She is not our cousin Nina

But it was her and she came up to us
And then we talked nineteen to the dozen
We'd a lot to catch up on and discuss
Yes, it was lovely to see our cousin
