Bridges Poem by Scott Austin

Bridges

Rating: 5.0

There are new bridges
Worn bridges
Old bridges
And even broken bridges

There are stone bridges
Concrete bridges
Steel bridges
Wooden bridges
And even some rope bridges

Some bridges are open
Some have rails
Some are covered
And some even have arches

There are some wide bridges
There are some narrow bridges too
Some bridges are meant to crossover together
While other bridges are meant to crossover alone

Some bridges are meant for light loads
While others are meant for heavy loads
Some bridges are meant to ride across
Others are meant to be walk across

Some bridges are sturdy and strong
Others may be weak and frail
Others may be broken or half gone
Some may even have burnt or are on fire

Some bridges can be repaired
Others may take along time to repair
Some just need mending
And others may just need a little help

We cross our life’s bridges
Once in awhile or maybe everyday
We need these bridges to bring us together or keep us apart
Whichever bridge you will cross

Be sure to keep this in mind
That there maybe someone on the other side
That could possibly be waiting for you with open arms

There are several types bridges. New to old and covered to broken bridges amaze mind. You have beautifully explained about your perception. Strong bridges are too available. Timely repair is necessary from broken bridges. An excellent poem is shared.10

In a world filled with frozen minds and people alienated by the force of their dogmas, the very notion of bridges to build new connections and repair old ones is most refreshing.

A very fine use of metaphor. May bridges of warmth and compassion be built between people of all races, countries and cultures. Excellent work. As always, Sandra
