Bridge Burners Poem by Pasquale DiMeola

Bridge Burners

He laughed at her prune face kiss
Shoving away love with scorn
Mocking her youth in a hiss
Cursing the day she was born

Til ten years later he eyed
A charmed waif became woman
She shot out daggers in stride
Slicing his tail like vermin.
