Breathe Poem by Viola Grey

Breathe

Rating: 4.4

I don't need you
to make me happy,
but I want you here
to help me breathe,
to chase away notions
that lovers and fools
fall from the same tree
like dried leaves
on dead branches.
You bring welcome light
into shattered darkness,
illuminating corners
so long abandoned.
And, without our dreams
everything changes
from mirages to dust
with each cold breeze.
You keep the pulse
of my fantasies
and I only want you
to help me breathe.

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

This is another one of your strong works. 'lovers and fools fall from the same tree on dead branches' This image brings to me a big crack. Then as dreams and fantasies merge to me as one, it makes Breathe the best title ever. 10 Karin Anderson

I adore this poem. Breathing is never as simple and habitual as it is made up to be.10/10
