Brave Poem by noel maddock

Brave

Brave to be alive to pain
its centre coiled, agony blue
in centrifugal motion molten
karma's maiden and master
tightened knots are loosed
ache turned off when copulation's assured
to be alive to consequence unsure
its hub collecting discouragement
peddling side effect cures
every hope sponge soaking overspill
brave as martyrs with no fulfilment
whose betting slips adorn landfill
the speck of white that yearns for black
but sense of humour indestructibly intact
brazens out the plastic jokes of bit parts
the daily trawl though chance
exaggerating certainty as if it were a plan
trying to embrace the also rans
oh brave one, scared one
do what you must, can

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

Appears to be a vigorous plea to live vigorously; to dare to dare. Excellence, it would seem, also a major goal. Very worthwhile offering, noel!
