Braless In Detroit Poem by Uriah Hamilton

Braless In Detroit

Rating: 4.8

In the early 1970’s
The singer Rickie Lee Jones
Was arrested in Detroit
For not wearing a bra.

I would have been
Around eight years old
At the time
But had I known,
I would have organized
A jailbreak.

To this day,
I support a woman’s right
To do whatever she pleases,
Especially with her breasts!

This one made me laugh. Rickie Lee Jones! Chuck E's in Love! Wow...haven't thought of her in a long time. Although, I'd rather not think about her bra... :) But I liked the poem. Not the same old same old. Something fun and smiley!

it reminds me of a quote i once heard: 'i'd like a woman's mind more if it bounced gently when she walked.' yes, as said by linda, a very typical male perspective. eni da kid

Wait a minute - I was in Detroit in the 70's and NONE of us wore bras! How come we didn't get arrested? lol! Must be we weren't singin' the right songs! Fun piece here, Uriah, and a typically male perspective! Linda

haha! I made up my mind in the mid-seventies not to wear one. I would have been about 15. Also, no more pjs. I was such a radical kid.

Don't know what spirit this poem was intended but, it seemed harmless enough. I'm all for freedom of dress, etc.. Thanks for the vote! ;)
