Bouquet Poem by Desmond Lim

Bouquet

A new year's time to celebrate,
and rejoice in our everlasting fate.
Though separated, by cities and town,
A gift like this, is the thought that counts.

Bouquets for you, so far away,
Just for a smile, what do you say?

Nothing says my heartbeat's still,
Like a bouquet of Daffodil.
It means ‘The sun's shining when I'm with you',
And you always make me feel brand new.

And all these years since day one,
It's always been days and days of fun.
Preserve the memories, like plants in a pot,
With this bouquet of Forget-me-not.

Something now, that says you're first,
Is a bouquet of Arbutus.
To thee only I give; to thee only I love,
You are placed high, and above.

So soon the year shall end,
But first let these words now send,
Thoughts of concern and deepest care,
And hope of a happy year, we both shall share.
