Bottled Up Poem by Lisa French

Bottled Up

Rating: 4.0

Everyone has secrets, they don't wish to tell
Some are really painful, that make you feel unwell

We chose to discard, them to lock them away
The longer we do, the more they want to escape

They can bring lots of pain, they can work up the tears
Why do we try to act normal, and cover what we fear

We trap it inside, as it annoys us too much
When we finally try to let it go, it hurts so much

Someone else finds out, and you think your world is at end
But before too long, what you've told begins to mend

Keeping things to yourself, can hurt really deep
Do what I did tell someone, it does help a heap
