Bottle Up Poem by Nichole Gilmore

Bottle Up

They never see
This girl inside me
The girl hiding behind this mask
The mask I put on everyday
I cheerfully laugh
I sweetly smile
I act for a mile
But I don’t know how to loudly cry
At least on the outside
Everyday is very much the same
And I don’t care for this game
I miss the sad rain
But all precipitations are the same
Snow is very much colder anyway
My hands are blue and cold
My eyes are blank and old
They’ve seen it so much that shanty be told
Why did you leave and go?
I wanted you to know
How you just simply let go.
The wind softly blows
As The shadow knows
It broke my now bleeding heart.
