Born To Shine Poem by Titto Mutunguti

Born To Shine

I ask you rain.
Rain if you may.
Don't form clouds,
then later walk away.
Do rain,
Or stay out of the way.
I ask you sun,
Shine if you can.
Don't rise so high in the morning
Then later, hide behind the clouds unwarming,
You were born to shine.
So, shine because you can.
And you moon while its dark,
Make hay to bring the light back,
Don't wait at the dawn of the promising sun.
For then light isn't your concern.
Let the moon shine,
Let the sun shine,
Let the rain shine,
Everyone shines.
You were all born to shine.
