Born to live free
No chains shall shackle me
No lost-love memory
Neither haunting pains shadow me
Past mistakes become lessons
Renewed life, living new visions
Born to live free
Living a destiny for His glory
In darkness, I would never walk alone
Before me His light, has always shone
Chiseling out a life of my choice
Heeding to My Shepherd's voice
I plod on, carving each new day
Picking life's jewels along the way
Happiness is living each moment, now
Not a destination to arrive, somehow
Born to live free
Born to be happy!
A beautiful poem, well crafted with insightful message to drive home the point. A lovely Psalm. Thanks for sharing. Please have a look at my poem MANDELA - THE IMMORTAL ICON.
a lovely poem. We are each born to be free. To be free to love and live life as we choose. Keep up the nice work
BORN TO LIVE FREE BORN TO BE HAPPY! Those closing two lines have earned the exclamation point that caps them. The first stanza gives the overall view of life that climaxes in that declaration. The longer second stanza explains the specific values that guided you to such a blessed condition. I especially like the first stanza which list what you are free from, namely, chains, bad memories, physical pains, baggage of mistakes. Not to be burdened by these four negatives is clearly halfway to happiness. But the second stanza completes the path to freedom with sincerely expressed religious faith. This stanza is a kind of prayer which is quite moving. I don't share such religious commitment but I applaud your obvious sincerity and its impact on your life can only be celebrated.
A lovely poem with a sweet message of hope! Wasting life over regrets of past folly or anxieties about a tomorrow yet to be born is sheer foolishness. Enjoy each moment when it is possible, abiding in Almighty's providence! Enjoyed much!
