Body Of Evidence Poem by Dorsey Baker

Body Of Evidence

You found her asleep
upon the bed
nothing to cover
her untruthfulness
but the truth
the plain and simple truth
it stands firm
in a straight line
nothing can make it crooked
You kissed her cheek
her mouth
too full of bitterness
You touched her thigh
it was smooth and sweaty
evidence she
had engaged in an act
of immorality.
