Somewhere
in the back of beyond

we walk down
these dark streets

glinting with rain
& dreams

a thousand stories
(ours only one of them)

I pull you
near
whisper
in your ear

what I would like to do
with you.

You blush
& smile
& nod.

“What...here? ”

“Here &...now? ”

“Why not...why ever not! ”

thinking we are hidden
we put on quite a performance

for the well hidden
CCTV

it totally
aware of us
we totally
unaware of it

until we come
to the end

fixing our hair
straightening our clothes

we give the camera
a friendly wave

fade

back into the night

leaving only the silence

broken by an ambulance siren

only one
of a thousand stories

that can be told.
