Bloodied But Unbowed Poem by Tony Jolley

Bloodied But Unbowed

Rating: 5.0

He wasn’t carried from the ring
Upon shoulders of adulation and adoration.
He wasn’t paraded before the populace
As ‘Local Boy Made Good’.
He was neither victor nor vanquished:

He simply went the distance for you.

It's not the winning that counts, it's the taking part. Nice one. Sincerely Ernestine Northover
