Blood Spilled Poem by Alyssa Lynn

Blood Spilled

Fingers freezing, nose still bleeding, crumpled lyrics lie on the floor as he asks her if she’d like some more. Just a dropp of red to hit the floor as she cries out “I can’t live like this anymore.” Hold my breath keep me safe, keep me in your warm embrace. Comfort me while I go through all this mess, I never thought, he could do.

She lies to herself every time she says, when she says “he loves me”. Fear bubbles up as she starts to cry “why don’t you love me? What did I do that was so wrong? Was it my song? ” She’s like a bird with broken wings, somewhere along the journey he killed her song, I bet if he didn’t you would’ve sang along, and listened to this girls song.

She tries, tries not to crumble, not to crawl, but inside it’s obvious she’s becoming nothing at all. Her blood spilled across the floor, as she puts those fingers on that door. She’s so close to the exit sign, till he whispers “baby your mine, just find the heart to stay maybe just another day”.

But she finds the courage to open the door, so much stronger than she was before, she turns to walk away, never to return…to the place where her blood touched the floor where she cried “please I can’t take no more.” She’s leaving and is never coming back….how wonderful is that?
