Blood Food Poem by Saiom Shriver

Blood Food

Where cattle and
sheep ranchers invade,
dead beige trees.replace
rain-green woods.
No more half a million
pounds per acre of food,
but 1000 pounds of
animal flesh and blood.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Note: Dr Faust of the USDA Fruit Labs reported
that centenarian apple trees drop 2 tons each of food.

Ranchers' domination of Western states
with low population (Wyoming, Idaho, etc)
is inherent inequity. (36 million Californians
have no more representation in the Senate
than 1/2 million residents of Wyoming.)

Ranchers are a chief cause of drought and
the worst fires ever in the US, Canada, and
Australia.
