Blood Poem by Jade DragonHeart

Blood

It’s warm at first,
Then it freezes beneath me
Slowly flowing from my veins

To my left I see only blood and water
To my right I see only the alleyway,
Where he was when he silently called for me

Beneath me is the hard rocky ground
Absorbing my soul and thoughts
He finally arrives again, but he’s not alone.

He brings another with him, he’s tall and thin
Pale skinned and red eyed, he bends down beside me,
His hands are cold as ice as he touches my face.

He turns my head over to look at my neck from a new angle
When he sees the marks on my right side, he knows it’s time.
He kneels on one knee and then he sits on my stomach, placing his hand on my chest, making it hard for me to breath.

He whispers in my ear, it’s a question. But it’s to far to hear so I just nod.
I see him cut his hand and he places it over my mouth and…warm blood
Blood slides down my throat and then he jerks his hand away.

My body is changing; I am harshly being ripped apart.
When the pain was gone, I rose off the ground
The two men greeted me by saying: “You are one of us now.'
