From nearly 4000 miles away, Happy Birthday to you
I really wish I could see your smile right now as you're reading this
Your dazzling figure, and peculiarly infectious giggle
Makes you the unique person whom I'm going to dearly miss

By possessing the endearing beauty of a peerless phoenix
You captivate the hearts of others with your piercing eyes
Filling up the room with your natural ineluctable sunshine
Whenever the moment the corners of your lips would rise

Time sure has gone by quicker than we have expected
And now that it's over, I can't believe how fast it took
But at least it's been a good year of parties and english classes *cough cough*
So remember to always make sure we keep in touch through facebook

But for now, from nearly 4000 miles away, Happy Birthday to you
I really, really wish I could see your smile right now as you're reading this
To me, our friendship holds an immutable, undeniable truth
And if I were to summarize it into one word, it'll be 'Bliss'

(Specially dedicated to Rachel Krins for her 18th birthday)

Poem of the Day

poet Dante Gabriel Rossetti

A little while a little love
The hour yet bears for thee and me
Who have not drawn the veil to see
If still our heaven be lit above.
Thou merely, at the day's last sigh,
