Blind Ambition Poem by Je'free Y .

Blind Ambition

We turned a perfect space into construction sites.
Every laborer is ornamenting the already beautiful
Only to realize, in death, how most of our sweat,
Unnecessary, was but a waste of exertion.
Everything done in hatred and cruelty,
In the formation of these tangible surfaces
Returns to haunt us even in grave:
All the scorn and judgment, the greed and theft -
They all transform into the phantom
That inflicts fear even on the bravest.
All the envy and vengeance, the lies and lust -
They all come knocking on our coffins.

Amidst these redundant structures,
Every worker toils on erecting a pointless tower,
Piling up desires for what he imagined, the needless,
Without the realization of the grandness he owns -
This endless hunger, worse than material poverty.
Why do we long for excessiveness? Is it because
We underestimate our immeasurable enormity?
Humankind is a dreamer led by blind dreams,
Unawakened by an unacknowledged completion.
When we all leave this slumber full of strife,
The inner wakefulness shall enlighten our journey
Into the right path of our truly fulfilled being.
