Blind Poem by Bailey Logan

Blind

I can't quite put my finger
on what it is about him
he nothing special
but he is to me

My friends laugh at me
they see how foolish this is
my eyes see it too,
but my heart is blind to it

I'm not asking to repeat the past
I don't want to speed into the future
I want here and now
him here and now

But how?
there isn't much I can do,
As much as I want him to stay
my grip might not hold

So I remain
slipping
watching him walk away
I never really had him though

Sometimes I think,
well maybe he's changed his mind
I know better
but my heart remains blind
