Bleeding Rose Poem by Spiritwind Wood

Bleeding Rose

You can learn to love one another
talk of days of a life always together
believe that it will last forever
but then love turns to hate

The tears fall but now it's too late
and you find yourself there alone
as you lye there empty and awake
with dreams broken that wouldn't wait

You feel your heart beating cold
and now turned to stone
wasting away on memories gone
that you can no longer hold

Left with a bleeding rose in your hand
from all the lies of promises made
in the shadow of darkness you stand
just trying to make it through
as you watch the night fade
with love you thought would remain true
