Blank, Barren And Bleed Poem by Zuellah Huma Ahmed

Blank, Barren And Bleed

How barren is this water?
How barren this land
Deep in the depths of its heart
How flourishing! Its barren sand
Has water not flown in it?
Has light not been made for it?
Has air no space for it?
To breathe in its mighty hand
Has barrenness been its state?
Has changing not been in its fate?
Desolation full of its taste
Barrenness! ! So rich of inexistence
Yet so empty in waste
Was its inception
When nature was in haste
What harvest has this crop?
Wrapper of a barren strand, being its top
Is blankness its seed?
And fruitlessness its breed
How barren is this water?
Colorless its bleed
