Black Orchid Poem by Beach Girl

Black Orchid

Rating: 5.0

I took a walk

'Neath moonlit skies

Into the deep, dark wood

The earthen path

Wound round to where

A wizened oak tree stood

And 'neath her boughs

Upon her roots

The queen of flowers hid

Her fragrant scent

Filled up the night

A wondrous Black Orchid

BG, i think you 'want' boughs, not bows............ :) ? - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - bough bou/ noun noun: bough; plural noun: boughs a main branch of a tree. apple boughs laden with blossom synonyms: branch, limb, arm, offshoot snow-laden pine boughs - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - i found a LOT of definitions for BOW, some being nouns and some verbs [not all pronounced the same either], but none fit the poem, i believe. BUT one noun-definition of bow does have the same pronunciation of bough, i believe. SO confusing! ! ! ! i like the poem and its arrangement. i like wound round. and i like the tricky hid/orCHID rhyme. very nice. thanks for sharing. :) bri

When you write Black Orchid it does sound elegant, and your poem added it to be kind of nice shades to its beauty...Good choice of name and beautiful poetry idea as well.
