Black On Black Poem by S Holland

Black On Black

Rating: 5.0

Black coffee poured into black mug
Looks rich beyond reality.
I inhale
With unabashed addictedness.
I close my eyes in expectancy.
To sniff almost seems enough,
Except my tongue waits
To drown itself
Again and again
In the black bath
Of ecstasy.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Coffee lov'in, as usual :) I've been drinking decaf for the last 2 months, after 30 years of drinking regular. I'm doing fine, and am adjusted to it.

While sipping a cup of tea, I have just read your 'Black On Black' and liked this wonderful poem. 'Except my tongue waits To drown itself Again and again In the black bath Of ecstasy.' -Very few people can describe a simple sip so poetically and take it to such an ecstatic height! Absolutely beautiful! 10/10!
