Black Nail Polish Poem by Alyssa Ray

Black Nail Polish

Rating: 5.0

She sits in her room
And mumbles something under her breath
She's praying to see tomorrow
Because she knows what's going to happen tonight
Her father's leaveing her mother
For her mother was having an affair
But her mother's boyfriend beats her and her mom
So when her father leaves
The boyfriend comes in
And heads up the stairs
To beat her
And she can't do this
Here he comes
He's coming up the stairs
Her breath get heavier
She puts the brush back in
Into her black nail polish
She runs into her closet
And locks the door
She's armed with her cutting knife
She's so scared
He opens her locked bedroom door
It's busted down
Her mother's screaming from downstairs
She grips her stomach
And hangs on tighter to the knife
She feels like screaming
But she has to keep quiet
He yells at her to come out
But she won't
Because he can't see her
And he never will
Once he goes back downstairs,
She'll jump out the window
Regret
Because of her mother
But she'll leave her mom
Her black nail polish
Resembling what he did
To both of them
