Black Love Poem by Yewande Adedokun

Black Love

Had the scariest dream
Fear says I should pray
Outer mind knows no care for fear
Black diamonds in a dark ocean
It has to be found
Hold your breath and reach down
She loves me so much, could not hide it
Springs in me her love, so much in love
It is black with us
Masks I see through
Masquerade's costumes need no needle
Black is easy, just look in the middle
He looks straight in my eyes
For some seconds not saying a word
Then he lets out a loud laugh
I guess he sees me making black love
Plastic babies seem to need care and affection
Am trying to reach for their blood
He is scared now, I am scared too
She needs my love now, but it is too dark to see through
Grey shades seems not enough for an empty soul
Serine minds sees black glow
Black oil for dark souls
Tone down for a dress
She will soon speak on the radio
And tell the world a story of our black love.
