Black Heroes Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Black Heroes

Black heroes

Imagine being on Dufferin; heading north
Eglinton, to Allen, toward home
At first right you are shocked
As if in Caribbean, Africa
Hair salons and styles
BBQ, restaurants
And the men
Greetings
All great
Easily you recall
City is a multi-cultural
In all means and all ways
From roads to the walls, to roadsides
Graffiti, histories, videos; portraits of blacks.
