Black Bird Serenade Poem by Twiggy C. Tubercio

Black Bird Serenade

I tried to put the sun in a box this morning
But I didn’t know your address
Your voice is like the Sirens
Your skin is my scapegoat
I blame you for this beautiful disaster

Fate pulled some strings for this one
I must have done something good
Because now all I see is you

I’ve been waiting all my life for this
And you came just in time
I’d give up that beautiful place for you
I’d give up that materialistic paradise for you

This love is sweet like your serenade
My knee will kneel twice for you
I will ask for your hand to be mine
I will offer you my pile of dirt
You are my beautiful blackbird
