Black Poem by Belle Violet

Black

Shoe polish, nail polish,
ravens and crows.
Squished ashes and cinders,
and arachnid foes.
Bats, cars, cats,
eye shadow,
and,
silhouettes.
Tuxedos and darkness,
rendezvouses,
pitch.
Magick
with the hat
of a witch.
Lingerie and nice shades.
Leather.
Metal.
And The Rolling Stones' paint.
The color of
good Devil's food cake.
Spade and
club cards,
especially Jack.
I love everything -
Nay!
Prefer it
in black.

Fun, catchy, and sharp witted. I like this poet. Very traditional in many ways too.

Creative, clever and convincing that black is still the new black! Captured me immediately. Well done.
