Black Poem by Walter C. Edwards

Black

Walking on the shards of glass,
of broken dreams,
from the mirror,
reflection of a love gone wrong,
looking at my bloody,
feet before me,
your heart is black,
black as the devil's tongue,
you brake me into pieces,
again and once more,
you twist my soul,
into something else,
here, now I am facing you,
with the rain pouring down,
never going back,
never going to live in black,
just let the light shine on me,
and the let the sun caress me,
kiss me, give me light,
give me joy, give me life,
never live in the darkness,
please take the black away.
