Bitter Woman Poem by David Thomas

Bitter Woman

Rating: 2.7

you bicker with me
you bare your teeth
show me what you're going to eat
i sit here in this spinny chair,
thinking of all things i could be doing
besides wasting my time arguing away with you...
you inqure as to whether i hate you or not
but my contempts never outreach in your direction
instead they dissolve into a sweet remorse of love
and inside my heart i skip and play
yet mourning for what i once had,
you automatically assume like machine and modern man
that i am one or just the other
that it could be nothing more
you act like you're giving me a chance
like you're giving me a special second attempt,
but truth is,
you're only seeking your closure
in a very closed door
with a knob that's been sawed off
and a forlorn sign on the door,
open if you will the door will simply move and sway,
there are no hinges here- no strings,
just the dazzling special effects of a old rustic door
with no locking mechanism designed...
and yet you break it down.
