Bitter Sweet Cancer Poem by Arno Le Roux

Bitter Sweet Cancer

Bitter Sweet Cancer

Why are the heavens bluer than ever before?
We notice nests perfect, ignored in days gone by
Live a life now not limited with frowns asking why
Can't recall a crispier air was ever in store?

Like a first time eyelids part as an adult anew
Every moment now the last as we surrender
Day to day as we balance the tests with splendour
That when mind and senses sponging fresh dew

The others we meet on the busy road face-down
We can't wake them up it isn't really for us to say
Leave it to death to give life as we walk our way
Ones who only live and sleep the financial drown

Will it make a difference to tell others how blessed
Little time we have to feel wind and sun and tears
Later comes death and pulls the blanket covering fears
Join their windy path and warn of things missed
