There is no beauty here
Only birds and flowers
Heartache and pain
Dark clouds always near
These are more than showers
We live in the rain

Puppets to a puppeteer
With hunger that devours
Merchandised for gain
This landscape is severe
Nothing thrives in these concrete towers
Just deadwood and weeds remain

Sadness is draped with alluring veneer
They’ve a sweetness that sours
Need that is a bane
There is no beauty here
Nothing but birds and flowers
Flower into vein
