Billy Will Re-Visit Canada Poem by Francis Duggan

I have never been to Canada but Billy has been there
A Land he says he will re-visit when Spring is in the northern air
Down at the pub his Worldwide travels he is happy to recall
But the Homeland of the maple is his favourite Land of all
I will re-visit Canada to all Billy does declare
To the home of moose and caribou the grizzly and the snow white bear
He says with Canadian people much in common he does share
Says they have a warmth about them that to say the least is rare
In his World travels he has been in many Countries and great beauty he has seen
But memories of his six months in Canada with him are evergreen
In Canada Australia's sister Land I quote here what Billy say
The tanagers are singing in the maple woods today
He never talks of cricket or any code of football
But his travels in the big World he is happy to recall.
