Big Cats Poem by Naveed Akram

Big Cats

If I were a cat,
I’d be a big cat too,
I’d freeze in the land
Of the sun and rain.

This lion sank into the earth,
For the mind was a heated treasure,
Liking an eating ritual,
Loving the sunny weather.

My head dropped to the sure ways,
At a distant scene, under the fractured sky;
Never did a storm come hither,
Leading the lions and cats.
