To chosen lady and children,
The elder who loves them in truth,
And all who know the truth so do,
Because the truth which lives in us,
Will be with us forever then:

Grace, mercy, peace from Father God,
And from His only Son, Jesus,
In truth and love, will be with us.

It gives me immense joy to find,
Your children walk in truth just as
The Father God commanded us.

I write no new command to you,
But one we’ve had from beginning.
We ought to love one another,
Obeying His commands to us:
His command is you walk in love.

Deceivers who don’t acknowledge,
That Jesus Christ had come in flesh,
Have gone into the world today.
Such person is then antichrist.

Take care to lose not your life’s toil;
You must be fully rewarded;
The one who runs ahead and yet,
Does not teach what Jesus Christ told
Cannot possess God in his heart.

Don’t welcome him or take him in,
He who doesn’t bring Christ’s teaching.
But if you welcome such person,
You share in his wickedness too.

I want to write so much to you,
But not on paper and with ink;
Instead, I hope to visit you,
And talk in person, face to face,
So that, our joy may be complete.

They send their greetings to you then,
Your chosen sister’s, all children!
