Beyond My Imagination Poem by Richard Ikolo

Beyond My Imagination

Rating: 5.0

The rich feast on rams
The poor beg for alms
Graduates in the temple of unemployment
Nonentities in the city of enjoyment
Politicians amassing wealth
Masses pleading for death
Landlords, feeding fat from rent
Tenants, slaves to threat
The guilty rejoicing in their triumph
The innocent weeping under their roof
The righteous deprived of their rights
The wicked celebrating their loots
Vices on the increase
Virtues on the surface
Evil has become good
Good has become bad
Something has gone wrong!
Is this our daily song?
We obviously need a change
If we all agree there's a challenge.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I was inspired to write this poem based on my observation on what's happening in society. It beats my imagination.I'm altogether baffled.
