Beyond Mortality Poem by Varghese J Kuttikat

Beyond Mortality

Cool down.
For feverishness boiling
Might explode
The blast may claim you
As the sorriest victim among others deservedly buried;
Before the natural sequence runs its course
Martyrdom can afford to have nobler ends in view
Survival can have justifiable motives
That even win laurels from saints most self-effacing
There is no glory if a eunuch chooses celibacy
Martyrdom derives its glory , surrendering the dearest
And creates beauty most pure and austere ever conceivable
Breaking all ties; the ever-enduring tie is forged
This is how a mortal excels immortals
