Beyond Explanation Poem by Ima Ryma

Beyond Explanation

Two brothers who had worked for years
As window washers were at work
Fifty stories high. Their worst fears
Happened when their scaffold did jerk.
Because the ropes broke at one end.
The two were hurtled into air.
They locked arms as they did descend
Five hundred feet, falling down there,
Hitting ground. Miraculously,
One brother was alive and well,
With hardly any injury.
The other - broken where he fell.

The two brothers fell side by side.
One survived, but the other died.
