Beware! Poem by Gamaliel Scipio

Beware!

Beware!

It’s not as if
The Bible
Was absent
Not at all
instrumental
In warning me
It’s not as if
I was blind
and deaf
While two guys
Bob and Peter
Jamaicans
by birth
They songed me
Singing together
Speaking about
Africa and Africans
Being free
This is why
I don't even
Attempt
going after
Those who
went all out
to wrong me,
Am not at all
Overly concerned
With money
Nor with a
piece of rock
Placed in a hole
However
I am always
Interested
In a place called
Home
I have learned
as I read in
the Bible
many times before
clearly stated
in the Book
of mark 8: 36
For what shall it
Profit a man,
If he shall gain
The whole world,
And lose his
Own soul?
It is not as if
I do not feel
That urge
To search for
Something
But I know
There are two
Things about
This life that
Are to me
Fascinating.
One can stunt
His life’s progress
Partaking
In that which
is evil
Or one can
Satisfy life’s
needs
Thus feeding its
Progress and
Enhancing
Its growth.
But in all these
Things
Be warned and

Beware!
