Between Heaven And Earth Poem by Linda Patino

Between Heaven And Earth

Soaring through the broken road between heaven and earth there was calm.
I sit in silent meditation sorting out my memories the good from the bad.
With an angel hovering over me I don’t know how to say I must go.
Speaking silent words through my saddened eyes how I long to stay.

Counting my steps toward that bright light knowing somehow what’s in store.
Searching through the empty rooms of my mind and my heart I’ve reached the end.

I now surrender and I am no longer afraid to fly above the ground.
All the beautiful colors have now disappeared as I turn to look back.
In the slowest of motion I’m leaving my earthly life behind.
Humble and free I wipe my tears as I climb into heaven.
My whispered dreams I leave with you my love; to carry on in memory of me.
