Better Off Be

It hard was to believe what said he
to relieve the pressure on his statistics,
that I'd better off be
staying at home.

As if he'd be the best judge of that!

Now am I in New Guinea,
festering resentment
at the economic refugee
with whom am I lumped
for dumping a home
in which, said he,
would I better off be,
as if he was the best judge of that.
