Better If You Bless Me! ! Poem by Amitava Sur

Better If You Bless Me! !

Rating: 5.0

Better YOU bless me with an endless sleep now
And make me a defunct and totally senseless! !
This sleep should never break at all
Until death comes, knocking at my door
Or still, if YOU think
That I am to be here for sometime more,
Make me blind, deaf and dumb,
And convert me to a lifeless stone,

So tasteless is today’s world
With hatred, brutality and selfishness! !
Rampant fight in the name of religion and race
Devilish people are hunting women’s flesh
All over the earth it is so rampant, now
That living itself is a curse! !

A place where women are not freed yet!
They don’t have their rights,
Innocents are suffering at large
Tyrants are with grace.

Some people are still hopeful
But I am not anymore.

Have YOU brought me here in this earth
To show me all these?
It is not a life to enjoy
But a debris of hell,
Whoever may say whatever
But I cannot digest them! !

Better if YOU
Bless me with an endless sleep now.

This poem is a volcanic eruption of strong emotions on our present state of affairs. Very strongly expressed.

Sometimes we are so much frustrated that we wish to sleep for ever, a nice description of human sensitiveness to the ugliness and loneliness of this world................10

Wow! Amitava, what a poignant poem and message! Your indignation at today's world situation and especially that of women is to be greatly admired! You are a true gentle Man, not wanting to see women being treated like animals, if only all men could be like you! Women would have the freedom and love they so desire in their hearts if men were like you. Really great poem, Amitava! ! I give it a 10. Thank you for sharing this poem and bringing awareness to people around the world that there truly are men who despise the evil ones! RoseAnn

There is no point in growing sentimental! Of course sensitive people will be greatly agitated with the happenings around! But we have to look at life squarely in the face! We cannot run away from the realities! Let us do what little we can to improve the situation! Great poem expressing your deep moral indignation!
