Better By Far Poem by toby abiodun

Better By Far

Stand afar and stow away
find a place for your heart it won't fit into mine
knit and weave for your little lie
a bed that bird though it flies
won't nest here
stand afar and stow away
you'll be better i'll be better by far
bare yourself and roam with flesh ajar very wide
and welcome me
i won't be there i won't darken your door
find a place where you'll lie find a place for your lie
soon you'll know
why i smile like i cry and vice versa
stand afar or stow away
you'll be better i'll be better by far
find an ear for your song
it won't sell in mine
mock be but do not awe
at the succincty of this poem
it is all the word a man as me could spell
enunciate maybe own
for they tell of the hell that you feed to me
stand afar stow away you'll be better i'll be better by far
find a place to shine
you'll be forever dark with me
make ally with the sky
and bear children for her sun
make her a grand ma
it was a better offer after all
stand afar be gone
stow away be lost
we'll be better after all
