Betrayal Poem by courtney metcalf

Betrayal

Silence echos off these walls
Up the stairs and down the halls
It use to be fine here
But people came and went
Now what's left standing is in abandonment
Now what's left standing doesn't understand
That once was so cherished, was cruely pushed away again
Now this place is learning that it can be tricked
These walls change colors, these halls, they shift
And oh It doesn't stay the same
This place, how it loves to change
It realizes it's not only the others
But it's also itself that causes it to suffer
This is the part of the heart, where things that are loved suddenly turn dark.
This is the part of the heart, where what you loved suddenly tears you apart.
This is the part of the heart, where your deepest admiration dies
Where the hate you feel begins to multiply
Love and hate, so opposite but oddly the same
Love and hate, vice-versa
It's all in one game
Kill them or kill yourself
Either way it doesn't help
You'll never find relief again
This is the game pushing you to the end
And in the end, you dissappear
No more emotion, no more tears
Not of happiness, sadness, not even madness
You are void and all you'll find here is blackness
You are empty, You no longer exist
You are not a person, your mind is dismissed
