BEST FRIEND

Always there, close as my heart
Support against the drowning waves
Strength sharing joys and grief
Keeping me stepping forward without falter.

Lighthouse battered by purple storms
Shoulder to cry on when sorrow overcomes
Cheer leader for each triumph
My encouragement to succeed.

I walk a long hard road but not alone
You are my trusted companion
Leading me safe from each burning place
Reason for the good I achieve.

"Heaven"—is what I cannot reach!
The Apple on the Tree—
Provided it do hopeless—hang—
That—"Heaven" is—to Me!
