Benefits Forgotten Poem by Dorothy Kardas, Psy.D. Th.D.

Benefits Forgotten

Rating: 4.9

Mortal - the ungrateful wretch,
Taking all things as one's due
Inflated with incurable pride
Fell-ingrate - unaware
That oblivion is a deadly crime...
Frightful knave - unknowing
Of the treasure of docile ape
(Of the treasure of docility
And fitting teachability...)
Crocked with the pursuit
Of lechery and pleasure
With infected mind and defiled hands
Enslaver of darkness
Embracer of vice
Against the disarming
And soothing Light,
Unguided by the deathless wealth
Of meekness and innocence, stays unlearnt,
A stranger to the vastness of debt
And unbounded fire of the Cross,
Deaf to fidelity and care
Lavishly given from the abode
Of the Author of love...

A very well crafted piece of work, Dr. Kardas. Your structural architecting flows mellifluously, throughout the work...Thought i was the only pro-lifer, on this site! (Read your bio) . Solid penning, indeed, Doctor. F j R

What a wealth of wisdom in each line, Dr. Kardas! I just wish to shake up my congregation with your potent delivery of sacred truths....would that be agreeable with you, if I give you FULL credit? I can't wait to bellow out the first line...'.MORTAL - the ungrateful wretch' Oh, the thought of it just send shivers up my spine. Waiting for your reply. God be with you...I'll be reading more as I take my time to encode some of your cryptic messages. I must thank Sally for leading me to read your masterful work. Praise Be God...Rev. Sal

Well worded scourging of the deserving here Dorothy - you are obviously well-penned and this took us to the needed admonition which all fallen humans must ponder. Thank you for the reminders.......Greetings from Cornwall.U.K. and best wishes from Fay.

We may call him profligator or sqanderer. I liked the way u addressed God 'Author of love'. Yes God comes to play in every emotion/feeling and we can call him by any no. of names. In one poem I called Him 'eminent Unknown' in one as Original Artiste. Your addition is even more bealutiful. The structue and words are too good.
