Beneath A Diamond Sky Poem by Ross Campbell

Beneath A Diamond Sky

Beneath a diamond sky
The day comes drifting in
From the fragile coast
Where the world begins
And the darkness there is shattered
By the songs the dawn bird sings
As the sun is born on the horizan
And daylight spreads its wings

All the trees of the forest
Raise their leaves upto the light
Stretching out their branches
Growing to t he height
Of the majestic mountains
Crownd with golden cloud
Who cast of veils of mist
Removing night times shroud

And dew drops on the petals
And on every blade of grass
Catch the light and hold it
As if in beads of glass
And as they hold the light
I'll hold the beauty of this scene
Perchance i might revisit
In a midnights dream
